HANOI, HAI PHONG, HO CHI MINH CITY PILOT IMPLEMENTATION OF E-INVOICES GENERATED FROM POS CASH REGISTERS

Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Ho Chi Minh City are the three selected localities to pilot the issuance of e-invoices generated from POS cash registers.

Although e-invoices have been implemented nationwide, they aren’t frequently used in direct-to-consumer industries including restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, entertainment services, and gold shops, etc.

Therefore, the Tax Department is piloting the deployment of e-invoices generated from POS cash registers to enterprises in the above field in Hanoi, Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City in order to gain experience before expanding nationwide.

E-invoices generated from POS cash registers don’t need use a digital signature but are still legitimate. In addition, invoices are issued in huge quantities even beyond business hours or late at night and only have to send to the tax office at the end of the day. Enterprises believe that using e-invoices generated from POS cash registers has many benefits.

The Ministry of Finance has asked levels of authorities and branches in 63 provinces and centrally-run cities to continue supporting Tax authorities to expand the deployment of e-invoices created from POS cash registers.

The Tax Department has also examined and compiled a list of the companies and business homes that are subject to application, as well as created the prerequisites for comply to the plan

Ms. Ta Phuong Lan – Deputy Director of Tax Administration Department of Small and Medium Enterprises, Business Households and Individuals, General Department of Taxation: “The General Department of Taxation has also upgraded the system to expand the information technology infrastructure to meet the regular sending of invoice data continuously without affecting and interrupting the execution and invoicing of taxpayers”.

The Tax Department has set a target that by the end of this year, 100% of enterprises and business households in the direct-to-consumer field in Hanoi, Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City will have to apply e-invoices generated from POS cash registers.

Notice: AM E-invoice linked with “AMnote”, the accounting program has upgraded all systems so that users of AM E-invoice could issue e-invoice by POS machines with this additional distribution of a dedicated program in accordance with National Tax Department’s new regulations for it.
